Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Prior Authorizations Pharmacy Technician, you'll be responsible for:

  • Receiving and processing prior authorization requests via fax or incoming calls, ensuring timely and accurate review and processing.
  • Comparing prior authorization requests to a set of criteria on UHG's database to determine approval or rejection.
  • Providing expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and providers, resolving issues and addressing concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conducting clinical reviews for authorizations, adhering to legal and contractual requirements, including turnaround times (TATs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Documenting interactions with callers per contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Working in a fast-paced call center environment, meeting productivity and quality standards.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • An active Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Florida.
  • A high-speed internet connection at home, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a call center environment.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, metric-based environment, meeting productivity and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a call center or customer-facing environment.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy benefits management and prior authorization processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues.

Training and Shift Details

  • 4 weeks of training, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
  • An 8-hour shift with a 1-hour lunch break, with varying start times between 5:00 am and midnight.
  • A 5-day workweek, which may include weekend days, with scheduled overtime and holiday work.
