Join the Airbnb Public Policy Team and Shape the Future of Home Sharing

Airbnb is on a mission to create a world where anyone can belong anywhere, and we're looking for a seasoned Policy Manager to join our Public Policy team in the Northeast Atlantic region. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the company's policy campaigns and advocacy efforts, working closely with governments, stakeholders, and internal teams to drive business growth and promote the interests of our community.

About Airbnb and the Public Policy Team

Airbnb was born in 2007 when two Hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to become a global platform with over 4 million Hosts and 1 billion guest arrivals. Our Public Policy team is dedicated to furthering the interests of our community with politicians, regulators, and opinion leaders, helping them understand the significant social and economic contributions of our platform.

As a Policy Manager, you'll be part of a dynamic team that's engaged in hundreds of local conversations and negotiations with governments across the North America region. You'll work closely with our Public Policy Lead to develop and execute integrated government relations, communications, and stakeholder engagement plans to achieve key policy objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Airbnb's legislative and public policy objectives, including determining advocacy priorities, positions, and strategies.
  • Review legislative language, draft comments, and research issues to provide analysis and critical thinking on legislation affecting Airbnb's priorities.
  • Maintain relationships with an extensive network of contacts in local, regional, and national legislative, executive, and administrative offices, as well as with allied groups and coalition partners.
  • Represent Airbnb in meetings with government and elected officials, industry associations, Airbnb hosts, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage consultants and agencies to support campaign plans and ensure progress is reported accurately and regularly.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure policy plans align with business priorities.
  • Monitor and track legislation and regulatory matters as directed.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • 8+ years of experience working with policy issues in a relevant business, political, governmental, legislative, or regulatory context.
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with planning, memo-writing, and budgeting/basic accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in major computer applications and excellent communication skills, with great presentation and writing skills.
  • Acute attention to detail, with the ability to remain organized and help keep others organized.
  • Strong work ethic, with professionalism, courtesy, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and experience will be highly valued:

  • Leadership skills and experience in managing other people and developing teams.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region.
  • Passion for home sharing and the mission of the company.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to work, with a proven track record of being proactive and results-driven.

What We Offer

As a member of the Airbnb team, you'll enjoy:

  • A competitive salary, with a pay range of $142,000-$168,500 USD.
  • Opportunities for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
  • A dynamic and inclusive work environment that values diverse ideas and perspectives.
  • Opportunities for career growth and professional development.
  • A chance to work with a global company that's changing the way people travel and experience new destinations.
