Job Summary

The successful candidate will play a critical role in creating and maintaining reports, providing departmental insights on performance, and building data models to solve various quantitative projects. Collaborating closely with our technology team and data warehouse services, you will help meet departmental demands and drive data-driven decision-making. Your expertise in data analysis, reporting, and visualization will be essential in supporting our business operations and informing strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement new reports, as well as modify existing ones, to support business processes and data-driven decision-making.
  • Create impactful dashboards using Power BI and Excel to present complex data insights to stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain robust Data Quality standards and controls to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Develop and manage new report pipelines from source systems to the Data Warehouse.
  • Collaborate with Management and Business Analysts to identify business requirements, maintain comprehensive documentation, and obtain service sign-offs for all reporting requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable reporting pipelines and data models.
  • Apply data storytelling principles to create clear and impactful data visualizations using Power BI.
  • Assist in automating existing business processes and enhancing exception-based reporting.
  • Work with IT and Business Analysts to investigate, research, and acquire new data variables (data exploration).
  • Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful patterns that yield actionable insights.
  • Validate data for accuracy by verifying against standards and resolving discrepancies.
  • Investigate data errors and remediate poor data quality issues.
  • Contribute to the Data Governance program by updating the data dictionary and policies & procedures.
  • Analyze and validate metrics to ensure effectiveness and provide feedback to department leaders on areas requiring attention.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should possess:

  • 2+ years of experience in in-depth data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in working with Power BI, including experience with dimensions, measures, filters, calculated columns, improvements, rules, provisional formatting, DAX queries, interactions, and more.
  • Knowledge of DAX, SQL, and M Code.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex SQL queries to generate reports and analytics.
  • Experience with ETL tools, including SSIS, Power BI Dataflows, or other Big Data integrations.
  • Solid data modeling experience using star schema or other methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in statistical analysis and working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio), Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Experience with Smartsheets or similar project management tools.
  • A strong work ethic, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following skills and qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a remote team environment, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Knowledge of data visualization principles and techniques.
  • Experience with other data analysis and reporting tools, such as Tableau or QlikView.
  • Certifications in data analysis, business intelligence, or related fields.
