Job description: The Social Media Manager is part of Alignment's Corporate Communications team and is responsible for bringing our social media vision and strategy to life across our owned social media channels. As the lead social media contributor on the team, you will play an integral role in helping Alignment become the most trusted senior health care brand in the country. You will drive both short- and long-term social media strategy, day-to-day creation and management of editorial content, community engagement and tracking of key metrics in real-time, across multiple channels.
The right candidate is an experienced social media strategist and authentic communicator with a proven track record in managing and growing social channels. We're looking for someone who takes an inclusive, people-first approach to content with the ability to measure, report and improve upon the impact of that content. The role will establish the company's brand identity and voice on our social channels to set us apart from competitors by curating and creating content that increases engagement, builds community and inspires action. This position requires expertise in digital and social media - as well as a need to achieve and love for learning and continuous growth.
Responsibilities:
• Create, manage and execute social media campaigns and initiatives that advance Alignment's brand on owned social media platforms (i.e., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo)
• Own social media calendar, partnerships, plans, tactics and tools to help achieve business goals, including cultivating relationships with influencers and employees
• Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to create and curate compelling and relevant content that resonates with the company's target audiences
• Shape efforts in building and monitoring online reviews and reputation, responding to social media users as needed in a compassionate and HIPAA-compliant way
• Launch, grow and manage new social media channels where relevant, setting goals and timelines
• Track and assess social analytics, including online competitor presence, and identify/communicate insights that will inform future content planning and execution
• Serve as a social media subject matter expert internally and provide guidance, support and insight on social media projects and policies
• Support AVP, Public Relations & Social Media in the development, maintenance and implementation of long-range, multi-platform social media strategies, editorial calendars and tactical plans that differentiate Alignment
• Out-of-state travel may be required
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum Experience:
• Five years of experience in social media content strategy, management and execution within an agency or large regional organization
• Experience with social media management and monitoring tools (e.g., Statusbrew, Hootsuite, Canva, Google Suite, Google Analytics), with proficient photo and video editing skills
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with both organic and paid social media content on key platforms
Education/Licensure:
• Associate degree or equivalent with focus on digital advertising/marketing, public relations, communications management or related field
• Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge about health plans and health care
• Excellent written, visual and verbal storytelling skills, with impeccable attention to detail and ability to present clearly, strategically and persuasively
• Proficiency in using and following brand guidelines and editorial style guides (e.g., AP Stylebook, APA Style, MLA Handbook)
• Proficiency in using Microsoft and Google word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Office 365 suite, Google Docs)
• Demonstrated ability to manage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills and knack for developing in-depth understanding of target audiences and opportunities for innovation
• Capacity to balance the big picture with short-term needs and initiatives, possessing a problem-solving mentality when faced with challenges
