Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Adjunct Faculty member to teach tap dance and other related subjects in our Music and Dance program. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree, teaching experience in tap dance, and a demonstrated commitment to collaboration, collegiality, and student success. This is an in-person position with on-campus responsibilities, which may require occasional work on evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach DAN 109 Special Topics in Dance: Tap, and other subjects as needed, based on your expertise and the program's requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty to ensure academic excellence and student success.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching, supervision, and advising, with a focus on student-centered learning.
  • Participate in community engagement and university services, contributing to the institution's mission and goals.
  • Engage with students from diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Dance, Music, or related discipline).
  • Teaching experience in tap dance, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and educate students.
  • Strong commitment to collaboration, collegiality, and student success.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and identities.
  • Potential for excellence and leadership in community engagement and university services.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Appropriate terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D. or MFA) in a relevant field.
  • College-level teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Experience teaching a multicultural population, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.
