Paralegal (Lemon Law) Remote - Bay Area, CA
About the position
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) and client outside counsel to support the client's defense strategies, including lemon law claims
• Serve as the 'Person Most Knowledgeable' (PMK) on the client's policies and procedures, providing essential testimony at depositions and trials
• Manage small claims cases effectively, advocating for the client's interests
• Work in partnership with the California review team (located in Michigan), evaluating vehicle buyback requests to ensure they meet legal standards
• Train and guide team members on best practices for managing claims, emphasizing the nuances of lemon law
• Oversee the pilot dealer customer support process in California, enhancing consumer satisfaction and compliance
• Assess relief requests from consumers, focusing on those related to lemon law, to ensure fair and compliant resolutions
• Offer timely and accurate solutions through inbound and outbound conversations (including phone calls, chats, emails and other communications as needed) while keeping a positive and upbeat attitude
Requirements
• Recent paralegal experience, preferably in a role dealing with consumer claims and lemon law
• Paralegal degree OR college degree with paralegal certification
• Solid understanding of consumer claims management, including California lemon law
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, crucial for managing sensitive legal cases
• A proactive attitude, excellent organizational skills, and a detailed approach to case management
• Ability to work independently in a high-stress environment, with a focus on legal and paralegal duties
• Available to travel on location for cases/trials as needed
