Our financial counselors play a vital role in delivering personalized financial guidance and support to clients experiencing acute financial distress. Job Summary

As a Financial Counselor at MoneyStack, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one financial counseling to clients affected by problem gambling. You will assess each client's financial situation, provide expert advice on managing debt, budgeting, and long-term financial planning, and collaborate with behavioral health treatment providers to ensure clients' financial plans align with their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Counseling: Provide personalized financial counseling to clients affected by problem gambling, helping them create actionable financial recovery plans.
  • Financial Assessment: Assess each client's financial situation, provide advice on managing debt, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with behavioral health treatment providers to ensure clients' financial plans align with their recovery goals.
  • Record-Keeping: Keep detailed records of client sessions, ensuring compliance with both company policies and state regulations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • External Speaking Engagements: Represent the company at industry conferences, webinars, and other events to promote financial literacy and awareness of problem gambling.
  • Financial Education Content Development: Create resources and educational materials for GamFin, our online financial education and support community.
  • Client Meetings: Occasionally attend meetings with state government administrators and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • AFC Accreditation or Equivalent: Must have earned AFC accreditation, CFP certification, or equivalent financial counseling and/or planning designation with at least 1000 experience hours to obtain the designation.
  • Professional Experience: At least 3 years of professional work experience in financial counseling or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Experience working with office productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack).
  • Remote Work Experience: Have worked both independently and as part of a remote team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
