Position Overview

• Job Title: Homebound Teacher - Remote Instruction for Students in Need
• Location: Remote (with occasional in-person sessions)
• Start Date: Immediate openings available
• Compensation: Competitive salary rate of $27.00 per hour
• Duration: Temporary position depending on student need

Key Responsibilities

As a Homebound Teacher, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing direct instruction to students in a home-based setting, either in-person or virtually, for two 45-minute non-consecutive sessions per week
• Preparing lesson plans and educational materials tailored to the student's needs and grade level
• Maintaining accurate records of services provided, including a weekly log of instruction and activities
• Collaborating with colleagues and other educators to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience
• Utilizing technology, such as Zoom or Skype, to facilitate virtual instruction and communication
• Adapting instruction to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

• Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
• Meet the highly qualified status for ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)
• Have a strong understanding of Common Core State Standards for the relevant grade level (elementary, middle school, or high school)
• Be a self-directed thinker and problem solver with excellent communication skills
• Be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities
• Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technology
• Strong organizational and time management skills
