Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for providing solution-based service to our customers. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Promptly processing internal and external customer requests via fax, telephone, mail, and/or email, including external customer inquiries on products, orders, shipments, etc.
- Responding to internal customer inquiries from Sales, Freight, Plant, Order Management, and other departments
- Reviewing order entry in a timely manner and checking orders for accuracy when needed
- Communicating effectively with internal and external team members to resolve customer concerns, build effective work relationships, deescalate conflict, and communicate professionally to all stakeholders
- Taking ownership of inquiries, utilizing all available resources to find solutions, completing timely and thorough reviews, and proactively following up with concerned parties
- Advising Order Management leadership of process improvement opportunities and participating in problem-solving meetings
- Collaborating with Order Management peers to provide superior customer experiences and sharing best practices/lessons learned in team meetings
- Performing other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed as a Customer Service Representative, you'll need:
- Effective written/verbal/nonverbal communication skills, including genuine listening, refraining from interrupting, and presenting interest or concerns genuinely
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly, manage competing priorities, and identify gaps/solutions
- High task variation, with the ability to switch between calls, emails, and meetings without compromising work quality
- Autonomy, with minimal supervision and the ability to work independently
- Trust and reliability, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
- Proficient computer skills, with the ability to navigate various software applications and systems
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly preferred:
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Logistics and Account Management background
