About the Role: Online Adjunct Instructor - PMHNP

Rasmussen University is seeking experienced and passionate Part-Time Adjunct Instructors to teach in our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. As an Online Adjunct Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to students, facilitating their mastery of content and skills within a self-paced, competency-based framework. This is a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from anywhere in the USA, with the flexibility to balance your professional and personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching Effectiveness: Utilize dynamic teaching strategies and multiple techniques to create an engaging learning environment, promoting student-centered learning and high levels of student engagement.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrate mastery of PMHNP content and articulate complex concepts to students, playing an integral role in curriculum development and assessment.
• Student Support and Professionalism: Foster a supportive online classroom presence, providing timely feedback and guidance to students through synchronous and asynchronous communication.
• Faculty Meetings and Professional Development: Participate in faculty meetings, programmatic meetings, and committee work as required, while completing a minimum of six (6) Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually to enhance your teaching and subject matter expertise.
• Grading and Feedback: Facilitate grading through detailed rubrics, providing constructive feedback to students on their assignment submissions.
• Live Sessions: Conduct live sessions with students, covering topics such as submission support, content delivery, and success strategies.

Essential Qualifications:

• Terminal Degree in Nursing: Hold a Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP, PhD, EdD, etc.) from an accredited institution.
• RN and APRN Licenses: Possess active and unencumbered RN and APRN licenses, with a preference for Minnesota licensure.
• PMHNP Certification: Hold current PMHNP certification, demonstrating expertise in psychiatric mental health nursing.
• Teaching Experience: Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching or a related field, with a preference for experience working with DNP students.
• Technical Requirements: Have regular access to a computer with Windows XP or greater, Microsoft Office 2010, and a reliable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Competency-Based Education: Familiarity with competency-based education frameworks and online teaching platforms.
• DNP Project Experience: Experience as a DNP Project Chair, Advisor, or teaching DNP courses.

• Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact effectively with students, leadership, and peers.
